This compact growing azalea explodes each spring with colossal lavender blossoms and has lush, green leaves that turn orange-to-red in fall. One of the hardiest evergreen Azaleas available that will stand the test of time as your garden matures.
Exposure: Part Sun/Shade Spacing: 3' to 5' Size: W 6' H 5' Zone 5 The beloved Azalea - great for bursts of spring color in shades of red, pink, white, and lavender! They are fabulous flowering evergreens to brighten up those empty spaces under your trees. Their ideal sun exposure is full sun with light afternoon shade or filtered sun. Azaleas do best planted in highly organic acid soil. Azaleas also prefer a moist, not consistently wet, soil. Feed your Evergreen Azaleas either in late fall or early spring. A medium rate fertilizer will get your Azalea ready to go for the growing and blooming season. If your Azaleas grow too large for your liking, you may shear them annually. Proper shearing time is just after blooming. Don't worry if you are unable to shear right away, you have about a 30 day window. A common pest problem with Evergreen Azaleas is Lace bug. Checking undersides of discolored leaves can identify these tiny insects. If you don't see the actual insect, you will see the "dirt" that it leaves behind. Lace bug can be controlled first by planting your Azalea in an area that will receive proper sun exposure. If your Azalea does not receive some shade it could get stressed. That's when the Lace bug could become a problem.
