Mt. Fuji Flowering Cherry
Deciduous tree, small, 12-15 ´ 20 ft (3.5-4.5 ´ 6 m), spreading, horizontal branch pattern, serrated leaf, pointed. Leaves deeply serrate, teeth with long tip. Flowers white, semi-double (single on young trees), 5.5 cm diam., 3 per pendulous cluster, produced before leaves, often turn pinkish before petal fall. Sun to part shade, susceptible to insect damage. Occasionally can become very wide spreading, one tree in Wilsonville, Oregon is 50 ft (15 m) across.
