Product Description
Orangeola Dwarf Japanese Maple
Acer palmatum dissectum 'Orangeola'
This is one of the favorites among cut-leaf weeping dwarf Japanese maples. The deeply cut glowing orange to red new growth is a standout in spring. The foliage matures to deep green with a tinge of orange which is maintained through summer. Bright red fall color on very quickly weeping stems make this maple a standout. Orangeola is considered to be one of the more vigorous growing than many of the cut-leaf or dissectum types, it typically grows to 9' high.
These small maples prefer a moist, slightly acidic, moderately fertile soil with a deep mulch. Most varieties of Japanese maples prefer to be grown in partial shade with direct sun occurring during the cooler parts of the day. High fertility in soils where a dwarf Japanese maple is grown in full sun is said to lead to increased leaf scorch in summer. Plants grown under fair cultural conditions seem to have few problems.
All of our Japanese maples are cutting grown.
